On March 8th, 2024, Summer made history by becoming the first woman to run a marathon while carrying a mattress, symbolizing the weight survivors of sexual violence often carry with them. This powerful event raised $5,000 to support resources and counseling for survivors, with every mile representing resilience and solidarity. Summer’s marathon served as a reminder that no one has to carry their burden alone, and through awareness and action, we can help lift that weight for others.
